I did a google search for "how to renew my passport?" and the sire popped up first in the browser. It looked legit and after I paid $144.85, I did get the proper 'completed' form DS-82 emailed to me but I had no clue that I could do all of this online with the US Gov website for renewing one's passport. I did find a very small note after the fact stating that you could do this for free yourself on-line. So basically I got scammed for these [censored] to fill out a form for $94.95 that I could have done for free in 5 minutes myself + another $24.95 for a Passport Card, which they will not provide...the Gov't does, and another $24.95 for "priority Shipping" which again is done by the government. I can't believe I fell for this, but it seemed quick and simple and legit. I'm going to have my credit card try and settle it as a scam.

I went online to renew my passport and decided that I'd get a Passport book and Passport card. Unknowingly I clicked on MyPassportHub and thought I was buying the renewal of my passport. This third party scammer charges ONLY to fill out the paperwork ( the application is Free online! ). They charged a certain amount per passport booklet and passport card.... the total was $119.90

I started filling out the application that they sent me and realized that the small print still stated paying by check to the US GOVT. I immediately emailed MyPassportHub asking them how the US GOVT would know that I paid for the passport already... NO reply. I called their phone number and it only went to a virtual assistant that asked for my phone number and authentication code and then promptly hung up on me. I then realized that this scammer company was charging me $120 to simply fill out the application for me!! I went to my credit card company and immediately reported a dispute to the amount charged. They have started a fraud claim. In the meantime I sent numerous emails to the My Passport Hub and called their phone number until FINALLY they replied by asking me to respond to a What's App message. I had no idea of what that was, so asked my nephews and they told me how to download the app. I did so, and the company responded by stating that they'd look into the claim. After 48 hours I did receive an email from MyPassportHub stating the following:" Your passport application with mypassporthub has been refunded due to a problem with your payment details and you should receive the refund within 1-10 business days." I have not been able to confirm the refund yet but am hopeful that the email is legit and if not, at least I can use it as a reason for the credit card company to seek full resolution.

I went to my local post office to renew my passport and they did not have any forms. They told me to download one. I googled passport renewal forms and went to this site, filled out the form, paid for it, and downloaded the form. When I went back to the post office to complete the renewal, they said I should not have been charged and that I'd been scammed. I called my charge card company and they said they could not stop the payment. I cancelled my card and ordered a new one. I am in the process of changing all my passwords and other information. They have my name, address, phone number, SSN, charge #, DOB and passport number.
