The scammer sent an email on 7/17/2023 pretending to be the president of our non-profit chapter (Passionflower Chapter of the FL Native Plant Society) asking to send a check or make a wire transfer in the amount of $1860 for "Operating expenses and Development Costs" that were non budgeted. They made it seem urgent that this request be taken care of quickly. I am the treasurer of the chapter and thought it was a really weird request so I reached out by text to the actual person who confirmed she did not send the message and it's a scam.

They included their wire transfer information:

Bank: HFCU Account Name: Fabiola Moreno Routing #: 313183368 Account #: 00200049827401
