My Moving Center Reports & Reviews (28)

I called the number on the email, they connected me with an agent from Elite Insurance Group, and I got insurance for my home, two cars and the new apt we bought, all for almost 300 a year less than we were paying without the apt just cars and house! Then they got me discounts for ADT got cameras and stuff for 25 bucks a month... def not a scam. But I asked how they got my info, they told me by internet sources so who knows.

Same as everyone else here, received an email from "Ben" at My Moving Center before the closing on the house was complete. Same as others, ours was a cash purchase, so no bank/mortgage company involved - so thought the realtor or the title company leaked/sold our info as "Ben" knew the property address, my name and email address. Both the realtor and title company swore they didn't leak/sell our info.

After reading the various posts on here, I looked back at what E-Document service the realtor used for our purchase agreement - it was Dotloop. In reading on Dotloop's website, I came across an announcement from July 2020 where "Dotloop now requires agents to opt out of data sharing. Agents that use the Zillow-owned platform will be required to opt out of a new data-sharing policy if they don't want dotloop to share their data with third-party affiliates like Zillow."

I am purchasing a new build property with a mortgage and was just sent two emails from a Ben at MyMovingCenter. Luckily for me, I used the email address ONLY for the builder and the title company/lawyer. I used a separate email for the mortgage companies so I KNOW either the builder or the title company/lawyer leak my email address and the address of the house I am buying. This is scummy and unprofessional.

How do we report this?

We are in the process of purchasing property (land), cash sale (no lender), and we haven't contracted with a closing firm yet. I received an email yesterday from "Ben", about our pending move. In speaking with my realtor, it seems when a property goes under contract, some personal data about the buyer is entered into the MLS. We believe that is the source of the data breach.

Really underhanded practice. I would never use a service that believes it's okay to use privileged information as a sales lead.

FYI, we did not use "DocuSign" but rather another service for electronic documents.

Just purchased a home with a cash transaction. Thought the Title company must have sold my info until I saw the question re Docusign. That is what we used for the transaction. Got multiple calls and emails to my private phone and email re insurance and moving "help". Immediately I smelled a scam. Feel sorry for those upon whom these criminals prey.

If you are buying through Opendoor (or any company like them) that is most likely how they received your information. This is the paperwork Opendoor sent me on their privacy policy for selling information. Also here are the two emails I got from “Ben”. Glad I read this website thread I would have had no idea it was a scam.

My Moving Center has the address of my property that is in escrow and sent me an email about moving services and another email about insurance. The insurance company referenced is Elite Insurance Group which is a subsidiary of Porch Group a publicly-traded company NASDAQ: PRCH. I noticed a couple of other people posted emails referencing the same insurance agency.

Happened to me as well...no other contact other than title company. I used Docusign like many others. Who is everyone using for their email provider? Could that be the culprit? It has to be an automated process for them to be targeting so many people like this. I use a plain old yahoo email.

I am a cash buyer too. This happened the day after my information including that I was a cash buyer, was given to Agents National Title Insurance Company. Who was your title insurance company? I suspect one employee is manually providing information from one company that is involved in all of the transactions in this forum. It seems they are strictly targeting cash buyers.

Like many of the other complaints, I was contacted by 'Ben' from My Moving Center. I am a week from closing on an all cash real estate transaction and there is no way they could have gotten my information from any public source since the transaction is only public once it is recorded with the County Clerk office. I can only assume they are stealing it from the Title company's data base or Docusign. This may seem like a trivial phishing scam, but the reality is they are; (a.) hackers that have infiltrated title company files illegally; (b.) the title company is illegally selling personal customers information or (c.) they have hacked into the DocuSign system.

Either way, I can't imagine anyone who would deal with company after their unscrupulous phishing practices. This needs a criminal investigation, not merely Spam complaints on the internet.

I am a real estate broker in Boise, Idaho and had this occur to me as well on a property I am personally buying! Very disturbing in that we need to find out the source of the privacy breach and shut down the people that are illegally sharing our data for a profit. I did notice that in all of these cases, they are targeting cash buyers. That is even more alarming. I am reporting this to our local real estate association, our MLS, the title company involved, the other brokerage, and the BBB so we can hopefullly collectively narrow down the people/companies involved. It is interesting that the company involved "My Moving Center" claims to be out of Texas, yet their phone # appears to be out of Seattle which just happens to be where the big Z is headquartered and is also buying up all kinds of industry related businesses!

I'm another victim of this phishing scheme. My offer was cash and I never applied for a mortgage. We used Docusign sent by Keller Williams prior to closing and the closing was done in person. Is there any sort of credit analysis or identity verification done on cash buyers that could be the source of the leaks?

We are under contract for property and no lender is involved. Within 5 minutes of emailing me (which had several websites listed) they called from a local number to me. Needless to say the call didn't go far. I KNOW that I have a privacy policy with both our realtor/broker as well as the title company. I am aware of how to go about getting insurance it isn't like I don't have insurance for other things now. Just like all scammers they are trying to play off possible stress involved in a real estate purchase. How they knew the road of this property as well as my email and private number I have no clue. They are not credible and got told as much. Let's see how many other emails and calls I get.

My husband and I just signed a contract to purchase a house - it’s owner financing (and we know the owners) so there’s no bank lender. We started receiving calls from my moving center with the same script that others received. We called them back to ask how they got our information and “Hector” said that it’s public record which is not true at this time. We did use DocuSign to sign the contract with the owners.

They started contacting me right after my offer was accepted on a house. I had ZERO contact with them and they somehow got my information. They send emails on a daily basis and now I'm starting to receive phone calls from random locations in the US saying they are from My Moving Center. The voicemail I receive is always someone telling me their name saying they are from My Moving Center and saying I need to urgently call them back. If you look on the BBB you will see this company is not even registered and was created in 2019. My guess is they pressure folks in moments of high stress and anxiety and once word gets out they spin up a new business so the reviews and complaints don't follow them.

I accidentally called back, and got a ringing tone (with no identifying of which company I called).. hallmark signs of spam center. The voice sounds VERY real, but comparing the 2 messages I got, they are identical. Refinancing - even before closing, somehow a spammer got my number. I did reach out to some companies via Zillow.

Here's the transcript:
"Hi, my name is Luna. I'm giving you a call regarding refinancing and ABC Street I have a couple of questions about your homeowners insurance and your upcoming refinance, or please give me a call at 855-967-0604."

My clients forwarded an email from "My Moving Center" to me just this morning. They went under contract to purchase a property less than a week ago. The email was sent to them with their names and the address they are under contract to purchase. They are paying cash; therefore no lender is involved. The only other party to have their email is the title company, as far as I know. This is the title company that my real estate team regularly uses and have had NO other complaints of this sort of thing. I contacted them inquiring about it and they stated that they have strict policies in place preventing them from sharing personal information. They are NOT affiliated. I have no idea how this company got ahold of my buyers' information, but I am very concerned. So far, I have been unable to identify the breach. My brokerage does not use DotLoop for e-signatures. We use the Keller Williams Docusign. I have not provided the listing broker with my clients' contact information at all. The My Moving Center website states that they are paid by "title agencies, real estate brokers, ect."

Hello et.al., whom have submitted complaints about My Moving Center. I have also received an email identical to the one posted. As a cyber security professional I have conducted a preliminary forensic analysis - i.e. domain ownership, reverse phone search, etc. I would appreciate all complainant´s feedback on a potential common denominator in these privacy breaches. I(we) are working to determine and confirm if DotLoop (E-Document Signing Platform), owned by Zillow, could be the culprit behind the privacy breaches?

Hi, are you still working on this?

Recently happened to me on a cash transaction. I'm a real estate agent and it happened to be a personal transaction with myself and my wife on the purchase. Only my wife received the emails from My Moving Center. I used AuthentiSign for the purchase agreement, but her email address was NOT on the PA - only mine.

The ONLY place I entered her email address was when I ordered title work on the title companies website. Has to either be a compromised website, backoffice system (they use ResWare), third party used by the title company or compromised email accounts.

Odd thing is, I've done dozens of transactions with this title company and never heard a complaint about this.

I come from a background in IT. Happy to provide any additional details to figure this out.

I was just contacted by my client with same scenario-- just under contract. This purchase is a cash deal, only people that should know buyer's info are the two real estate companies and the Title company that I trust. I DID use DotLoop, and I am very curious if they feel they can pull private info to sell to third parties from our actual documents.

The one I had reported to me used zipForm and DocuSign. Cash deal so no lender.

I applied on Zillow for mortgage refinance.. @SILIS

This fake company contacts recent home buyers to ask about installing a new security system. This phone number called asking questions about the type of security system. They asked questions such as "Is this your address?" and "Do you have a home security system installed?" "Does that system include security cameras?" "Is the system armed?" "What company is the system through?". They already had my address, phone number, and name when they called.

I did not answer any questions.

I just signed a contract a few weeks ago on a property and they called me about a free homeowners insurance quote. I asked them who were they and that I was not purchasing a home. They had the wrong person. They started giving me the address of the home I signed the contract for and everything. Scary!

Our company is a Real Estate Land Development company. Our buyers had just contracted with us and reported to us, shortly after we sent their documents, that they were contacted by My Moving Center without solicitation. They are very careful with their information & had not given out any information other than with our company, and an outside lender, NFCU. We only share buyer information with our Preferred Lender & Title company, who have strict policies in place prohibiting the sale or sharing of personal & confidential information; however, the buyers are now under the impression one of our companies sold their information, which is NOT the case. We want to know how "My Moving Center" gets their leads, including names, email addresses, phone numbers & the address of the property being purchased so quickly after. This is highly concerning and frustrating.

Same thing happened with our buyers. My Moving Center has the address of the property they just signed a contract for, along with names, email addresses & phone numbers; who knows what else. Our buyers are accusing us of selling their information, which is not the case. We only share their information with our preferred lender & Title company; who we also trust not to share this confidential information, not to mention, this is the first time an incident like this has been brought to our attention, ever. They also applied with an outside lender, which I'm suspecting had something to do with it. This is just concerning on all levels.
