Was contacted by text about a job by a recruiter. Did an interview using Signal app. Said I was Hired and they would send a check to pay for equipment required for job. They never had me sign a contract or sent me a w-4. The check was not from the Company that hired me. I asked them about it and they said they didn't have a U.S. office so they have other U.S. affiliates handle their U.S. finances. I did a Google search and they have 5 large offices in the U.S. I'm Assuming they wanted me to deposit the check then immediately make the perches they wanted me to get, then their check wouldn't clear.
