Received a letter stating I won the American Mega Lottery Payment. A check for $6,950 was included to pay taxes and Handling and Shipping fees. I needed to contact claims agent to start claiming process. I assume I would be told to cash the check and send money as directed. I believe it is a scam.

- Idaho Falls, ID, USA

I received a letter in the mail along with a check for $6820 stating that I had won a lottery for $2.5 million. The letter said the check for for legal fees. They told me to go deposit the check into my bank account and contact them as soon as I did that. Did not deposit the check. Shredded it.
