I was contacted by a woman I thought I recognized on WhatsApp. She convinced me into following her onto a a cryptocurrency investment platform. She demonstrated that the platform could dramatically increase the initial investment if I followed her high speed trading suggestions. I made some tests to make sure I could withdraw funds. However, she manipulated me into a loan agreement which froze my funds. At no point in the agreement was I informed that that the funds in my account were ineligible for settling the debt. I was threatened with legal action if I did not come up with an extra $10,015 dollars worth of cryptocurrency. My initial contact kept saying that she was responsible for my funds through the whole process. But when I told her I didn't have the funds and that the whole thing was very confusing she denied that any of that mattered at all. I filed a report with the FTC and realized this was a fake website that is mobile only, hosted off a cloud server in Singapore. And as such it cannot be googled. I am currently awaiting to see if my bank can help me through the dispute charges. I have also attempted to reach out the the company who produces the cryptocurrency in question to see of they have the technical capacity to track, freeze or recover the initial investment. This fraudulent website has my personal information and that of two family members and I fear I have been roped into a fly by night operation that wished to use my funds to mine Bitcoin and possibly to steal my identity for the purposes of laundering money.
