I was searching for local Doberman breeders and came across this site called https://mrjamesdobermanpuppies.com/. The site seemed a little odd in the sense that I have never purchased a dog in this way. I reached out to the info email address on the site. I inquired about the dog that I liked. They then asked me for my phone number. I gave my number, they then proceeded to text me with responses to my questions about the dog and how the service worked. They told me in order to see current pictures of the dog and further discuss the process, I would need to book/reserve the dog with a payment. Their payment options were Venmo, Cash app and Zelle….yea I know, I should’ve just let it go then..but I sent the payment to zelle account holder named Jackie Tucker. We agreed to meet at 4pm for an in person pick up. Then some time went by, I called the number, they did not answer. Then texted saying to give them 40 minutes. He then called and explained that he had to go and complete the paperwork that would be emailed to me. I got the email, filled it out, sent it back, then they said they were completing their part. They then said that they needed more time (until 10pm) to get the dog checked by a vet. I agreed to meet at 10pm. At this point he had yet to send any pictures of the dog and kept trying to assure me and tell me to not be skeptical and that it was not a scam. I reached out when I was about to meet him. Then he stopped responding all together. I at that point called my back and began the process of disputing the charge. It looked too good to be true from the beginning but I gave it a chance and the partial assurance along the way did not help either. I would love if they were held responsible for their scam, but besides that I want to warn others and any future mistakes made by attempting to work with them:
