Check that you're on the USPS site before doing your change of address. This came up looking like the official USPS site, seemed totally legitimate until I realized they charged me $86.50 instead of the $1.05 that the USPS site charges.

Looked up USPS change your address through Google. Clicked on the top listing, which looked to claim to be the official USPS website. Landed on website. Coloring and UI matches USPS layout. Customer lands "mid-page" with important information at the top, unseen. I realized this wasn't an official site on the billing page. Sadly, my card went through. I called immediately to cancel. The gent on the phone (Bien) said he would gladly change the charge to $19.99 and they would add me to a do not call registry. I said no, I really wanted to cancel. He responded that he could reduce the charge to a dollar. I said no, I really wanted to cancel and to ensure they don't keep my identifying information. I got a confirmation number that my account was "closed", but will have to watch the bank.
