My father got an email about wrapping his vehicle for a weekly pay. Thinking of me in need of finances he filled it out with my information; address, age, email, phone number. Received a text from a number I didn’t recognize and tried asking questions with no straight forwards. Sent a picture of my vehicle (you couldn’t read the license plate or see inside) and didn’t hear back from them. 2 days went by and I received multiple texts this morning about a check being sent to my address and a “tracking number”. When I replied with “please remove me from your list and I will shred the check once it arrives to make it invalid” the person responding threatened me by saying I’d be arrested by the FBI. I used some foul language and explained that I wasn’t ignorant and would be taking this to the ScamPulse.com as well as local police when the check arrived. And have yet to receive any other messages about it! Very scary to think of because I’m a single parent with 2 littles and one on the way. Knowing my information is with people who I wish didn’t have it, scares me.
