I received the attached letter requesting that I call the number provided immediately. When I called the number, the representative that I spoke with told me that I had to pay an "$199.00 unclaimed waiver toward my home warranty," because I did not have the required additional coverage. When I questioned her about this, and why it did not make sense, given that she was neither calling from my mortgage company or my homeowners insurance carrier, she attempted to explain that I needed this additional coverage, and that today was the last day I could attempt to resolve the issue by paying the amount specified. When I questioned her again, she hung up.

Persons stated it was required by my mortgage to have additional warranty on my home due to age of home. Told me I owed a balance of 295.00 and then 281.78 for 3 years then I would get 18 months free, stated this was my final notice and if I didn't pay they were going to red flag my title. And I would be billed $4,500 until I paid the balance.

Received envelope in the mail asking that I contact them at 1-888-801-8190 immediately to verify that I verify my property information for my home in Manassas, VA 20112. They identify the lender as Branch Bkng & Tr Co. This bank is now Truist. They show a record ID: *********** They attach what initially looks like a check for $199.00 for an allocated waiver but clearly states it is not a check on the bottom of the instrument. They state that they “reserve the right to revoke allocated waiver after 7 days of receiving this notice.” They state this is their final attempt to notify me.

- Louisville, KY, USA • Apr 08, 2026

Was not a scam that I could see but it had a “Allocated Waiver” for $199 noting that it was not a check. And stated “ they had the right to revoke the allocated waiver 7 days after receiving this notice”. Also,” call immediately”. I called and asked who they were and the individual said they were a service warranty company. Very questionable advertising using a lending institution name and a small print stating that tgey are not with PNC bank and it is not a check.
