This is an attempt to get the receiver of the email to urgently call the 800 number listed on the correspondence. There is what looks like a 199.00 check attached which, without thorough examination, would appear to some persons to be a valid check. Obviously anyone depositing said check would be held accountable for the funds by the bank and would create another attack vector for the fraudster when the victim realizes the check is not valid and is given motivation to call the 800 number in an attempt to determine what went wrong. The letter makes an attempt to look like my mortgage company "Rocket Mortgage". They are clearly working off of public record as they have my name accurate, my address and they know my mortgage company.
