Used my mortgage lender, had a homeowner ID: ID NUMBER . Stated there was an important matter regarding the property of, then my address. Stated it’s secured by my current lender northwest bank. Had what looked like a check, no watermark, stated a waiver of 199.00

This was a letter my wife and I received, which was sent as a check in the amount of $199.00 (stated "Allocated Waiver" - whatever that means). It looks like we were supposed to sign it to give someone the money. To be clear, we did not, nor did we call the number listed. There was no business name, nor return address listed. Just thought we should report it.

The scammer asked if I’d like to talk to a specialist and I said “yes.” They then hung up, possibly trying to use my voice to commit fraud.
