I reached out to Paul through his website to have a custom habit made in the style of the one worn by Audrey Hepburn in The Nun's Story. This is for my creative work as an actress. I am living in the Netherlands but had planned a trip back to the US. So in November 2022 I sent him a check for $400, which took so long to arrive that I was already in the US long before it was. Anyway, he cashed the check mid-December, and at that point I needed it rushed so that I could bring it back with me at the end of January. So I got a money order for $60 to rush it. By the end of January he still wasn't done and said it should only take about 2 more weeks. Not ideal, but fine. Someone would mail it to me from home. Every two weeks I checked in and every time, it was "two more weeks." He sent the MO back to me (well, to my cousin) but we couldn't figure out how to get it refunded without me being there. So he said if we sent it back he would cash it and send the cash to me. So we mailed it back to him. Cut to May, when he finally said he was sending things, in two packages for some reason. My cousin received the main part of the habit, but no veil etc. And no money. We waited and waited, and I kept checking in, and finally expressed exasperation when he claimed on the phone that they had rush orders they needed to take care of. "Why are you rushing everybody else's rush order and not mine?!" "Yours wasn't a rush order." "Yes it was! You were just refunding me that $60 because you were late with it." I kept sending emails and calling for a month until I just got depressed with it all. I had a lawyer friend write a friendly letter to him, and I'm looking into what to do next, because half a nun's habit is useless to me. I tried calling again last week but the number couldn't accept calls. I assume I've been blocked. My emails don't seem to make it through either.
Never again am I sending anybody a check. This is so frustrating. I thought I could trust somebody who made monks garments. But apparently not. I would love to hear from others he has scammed so perhaps we can take action against him. That was a lot of money for me to spend. I had wanted this habit for several years and finally went for it. Now I'm left with half of it, unusable (and my cousin said there was a pen mark on the fabric, which does not seem professional to me, but I still haven't seen it in person), taunting me for this stupid decision. I ordered a nuns habit in 2019. In February of 2020, I started hearing excuses (sickness, traveling). In April of 2020, Mr. Bernardino said he was"finishing up" my order. I ordered my nuns habit in December of 2019, it is now January of 2022, no nuns habit and no refund. He has lied repeatedly, sent threatening emails about my hate speech when I expressed anger. I know several people who have been scammed through a Page on Facebook called Victims of Paul Bernardino. To me and many others, he is a thief and liar.

I'm not sure what we can do, but I'd love to get in touch with others Paul has scammed. Perhaps we can take him to court. I couldn't find that FB group though. I will post my own complaint here in a minute. Please reply to me if you want to try to do something to get our money back.

Paul Bernadino, owner of MonasteryGarments.com takes peoples' money for orders of custom-made garments, does not make the garments and must be asked daily about the status of an order for 8 months, and then sends something like looks like a commerical halloween costume that is not custom made and refuses any refunds or corrections to puchases. His policies on his website are indicative of his scams.

I've had the same experience. Although he sent only half of what I ordered and it's still with my cousin waiting on the rest of it, so I can't vouch for the quality of it. It's been 8 months since I ordered and now he's ignoring me rather than send the rest of the darn product. I'd love to take some action against him if people want to join together with me.
