Mobile Payment Scam Reports & Reviews (1)

A friend contacted me on Jan. 21 to ask if my Snapchat had been hacked because he received a snap that said, "I can make you $500 - 2,000 right now." The same day I was on Snapchat and got kicked off even though I didn't log out. Ten other people contacted me and said they got the same message. The next day there were eight different charges using CashApp. . . with my roommates' name attached for $100, $222, $333, $333, $333, $222, $100, and $666 all withdrawn from my account via my debit card. I immediately called my bank, but it was the weekend so I only got voice mail. I canceled Snapchat and CashApp accounts immediately, but there were additional attempts today for two ACH transfers for $999 and $444 which my bank denied. I called the CashApp but they repeatedly told me that the information I provided did not match their records and then immediately hung up on me when I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor.
