I've been looking to purchase a bichon since saying goodbye to my 17 year old bichon. Went online to look and found a website where bichons were advertised with pictures and info. Since the price was something affordable to me I called number listed. Through conversation in order to "hold" the puppy I selected, I would have to pay and then could pick up or have shipped. I was so anxious that I would loose getting my new puppy I sent them via Zelle the money they requested. I also gave them a picture of the transfer and luckily it only had the last 4 digits of my account. I arranged for a time to arrive in Colorado (we live in New Mexico) and several hours after money transfer was made I texted to confirm; no response, waited 1 hour and texted again, no response, called, phone kept ringing, text one last time and said if no response I would contact police. That's when I realized I'd been scammed. It only takes one time to go through this to learn a lesson about checking out websites first and also to "never" transfer money using Zelle unless you know who you are sending to.

It will take me a while to recoup from the money I lost and the emotional trauma this put me through but I will eventually find my new bichon puppy.
