This started with a job ad on Indeed. I was up for a Data Entry Clerk for their company who would work from home. They gave me a check for $3900 that bounced and I already spent $400 on gift cards they instructed me to purchase. The check wasn’t fully not cleared until the next day when I got a paycheck from my other job. That sucked out the entire thing when they took back the posted amount. The investigation says the $3900 won’t post until the 16th of September

I received an email stating they received my application and resume from indeed. I have been submitting my application so this was plausible. They asked me to go to google hangouts and contact the hiring manager. After nearly two hours of chatting, I received a job offer that was too good to be true, so I knew finally it was a scam. However our chat was incredibly detailed and intricate, and I did not have any reservations until the end. Usually I can tell a scam right away. This one is frightening due to how in depth and intricate they were. Everything checked out until the very end when they finally said they will be sending me a check to pay for hardware and software, the typical scam. Prior to that the chat involved typical interview questions, such as, Where do I see myself in 5 years? Why do I feel I would be a good fit for this company? What are my skills I can bring, etc.
