Miller Easton Associates Reports & Reviews (6)

I just received the exact same letter with the same amounts and of course considered it too good to be true. However I thought to google the Miller Easton & Associates Law Firm . If I could confirm the letters address I was planning to send a friend to pay them a visit to validate it all - thanks to these threads you all confirmed my suspicion re this fraudulent scheme and saved me time and helped protect your neighbor - And God Bless you all for taking that
step !

A lawyer said someone with my same last name died in Canada, and they could find no other relatives & offered me the "opportunity" of filing a fake insurance claim if 10% is given to charity and other 90% split equally between us.

Some relatives in the US got the same letter. I’m a lawyer in Ontario so they naturally called me. I looked up “Larry Miller” in the licensee database and there isn’t any lawyer by that name working in Toronto. Also, the letter very clearly contemplates being involved in something illegal (filing a false insurance claim), which would get any lawyer here disbarred. Their website is also quite fake. So yeah, definitely a scam.

(Also no Canadian lawyer would sign a letter and call themselves an “attorney” — we call ourselves lawyers; attorney is a chiefly American term.)

I have had the same letter sent to me, if you're not careful you could definitely be fooled into giving them your phone number, seeing as that is the only information they ask for. Please be wary of letters like these.

Exact same situation as previous report. Attached photo/pdf of the document with the fraudster's information. They have a legitimate looking website, but superficial digging will show that these people are not real, or have no traceable online presence.
Feel free to prank the scammers with the provided document.

received letter in mail with stamp from canada, Heading said Miller, Easton and associates lawfirm, said notary public and gave an address for it in ontario canada. (I live in USA). The letter claimed I had a distant relative (with my same last name) whom I did not know, that died in a car accident, and no one had come to claim his Permanent life insurance policy. The letter said the unclaimed amount was $9,520,000.00. The letter stated the lawyer wanted to split 90% of this money with me and 10% would have to go to charity. They said they had all the documents to substantiate my claim as beneficiary. It gave an email and mobile phone number, and was signed by a Larry Miller, Attorney. They only ask you to respond and give your phone number to them. There are others on internet who got the same exact type letter, with similar claim and dollar amt that could be rewarded. Please be careful, I am older and many might fall for this. Although they didn't immediately ask for personal info except my phone, I believe this letter was just the beginning of me giving them an inlet to get ahold of me and get personal info from me. This person was up to no good
