Mile High Paving and Concrete Reports & Reviews (1)

- Thornton, CO, USA

On March 19th I came outside a man who identified himself as Joshua was talking to my neighbor about getting our porch steps redone since they had dropped. Joshua said that they were in the neighborhood on another job and offered to do the job for $1300, which would include sealing all the cracks in the driveway also. Joshua then talked me into placing a sealer on my patio also.

No time was wasted in demolishing the step for the front porch. After it was totally broken up I was told that they could not get a concrete truck out here on a Sunday. No mention of that was made before breaking up the step.

There were no large cracks on the patio, just in the expansion joints. Concrete was placed over the expansion joints and then a white sealer, the same material that was placed on the driveway, was placed on the driveway.

Initially both the patio and driveway looked good, but I was told to stay off of them until they dried. 4 weeks after the job was "completed" I started to see cracks in the concrete that had been placed over the "cracks" before the sealant was applied. Being unable to get a return call after leaving messages with the "receptionist" at the telephone number listed on the receipt, I decided to drive down the the address listed (4377 Lincoln St) and found that address does not exist. I made another call stating that I was going to go to the District Attorney about this. Joshua finally called back and made and appointment to come out and look at the issues. He failed to show up for that, but I was not surprised.

This appears to not be a legitimate business but rather a scheme to con people out of their money. This appears to be similar to the Travelers who scam people by placing diluted asphalt on rooftops and driveways. The only difference here is that they deal with concrete rather than asphalt.

I accept that I am out my money and will have to fix the work that they did. I am medically retired due to a disability and am now on a fixed income. I know better but was excited about getting the step to the porch replaced as it made getting up and down difficult. I would encourage anyone who encounters these people to call the local authorities and have them respond to find out who they really are. The work truck that they came in to do this work had Texas plates on it.
