While searching for recipes on the internet, a Windows Microsoft Urgent message came up on my screen. It froze my screen and it showed a phone number to call for Windows tech help. It looked legit. The foreign man said it was a virus and the only way to get rid of it was to follow their instructions. When I saw that they had taken control of my computer curser, I hung up the phone and turned off my computer. I was scammed and they had downloaded a bad virus to my computer. I took my device to a nearby tech store where they verified the virus and they wiped my device clean. Needless to say anyone can fall victim. Be careful and pay attention to the red flags. I now know that Microsoft will never contact you nor do they have a contact phone number.
