I was notified over the internet that I had approved a charge for Windows Defender for $399.99 that I never approved. When I called them they agreed to help me to get a refund for my unapproved purchase. They tricked me into letting them take over my computer when I was having trouble getting to the web page they wanted me to see. Before I know it they were in my banking account claiming that they were going to send a refund to my account. Since I was not sure what credit card or account was used to pay for this unwanted service, I agreed to let them refund my checking account. He claimed it would take a day or two for the charge to show up and the refund. I am now thinking that this was just a scam and I have changed my password on my checking account and will do further changes to protect my account. I hope there is something you can do about this problem with scammers.
