I allowed the scammers remote access because I thought they were from Microsoft. I asked how do I know you’re not a scammer and they proceeded to read me my computer license code or something. When they tried to additionally install some other type of remote access, I closed my laptop and hung up. I then googled and came across the scam on BBB. I felt uneasy from the beginning and should have researched first. I had very confidential information on my laptop including my pay stubs.
