Microsoft Support Name Spoofing Reports & Reviews (1)

- Watkinsville, GA, USA

I was looking up Christmas dinner ideas on the computer. I was writing information down and when I looked up; this security alert comes up on my screen and tells me I’ve been locked out. The Microsoft support number shows and says to contact them immediately. I called and this guy with some kind of accent asks how can he help me. I explained my circumstances and he attempts to help. Eventually he tells me that my issue is very serious and I need to talk to a 7th level tech. Which will be a one time $200 fee. Can he connect me? I told him no because I don’t have that kind of money. Plus I said I can find someone else to fix my computer. He tells me due to the seriousness I won’t be able to find anybody to fix this only their tech can do it. I told him no and I’m not about to pay that amount of money. Then he hung up.
