Microsoft POSER Reports & Reviews (4)

The email is an invoice for a "purchase" I supposedly made for the product Microsoft Firewall Defender in the amount of $299.00 for a 1 year subscription. There was a discount of $10.00 with a remaining balance due of $389.00. They have a phone number to call and speak with a customer representative if you didn't make a purchase and want to cancel your purchase. The scammers want you to contact them within 48 hours of receiving the email. I did not fall for this scam as I know I did not purchase anything from Microsoft. Additionally, it has been my experience that if you order a product from Microsoft you pay for it immediately with a credit or debt card and then receive a confirmation of your order from Microsoft. I just don't want anyone to fall victim to these people. I want to do anything I can to protect those folks who may not recognize it is a scam until it is too late and they have lost money, and/or their personal information.

Gave us a number to call if we had not made the purchase. When called they agreed to refund the money but wanted our bank account. I refused and checked with my bank. Several types of software were installed. Several emails from "Microsoft" were received in just a few days saying credentials needed to be updated. Person was told by scammer that they had several days to decide on the deal.
