I received email thanking me for shopping at Microsoft. The email which I received stated," if you did not make this purchase please call us at 1-870-5558 Toll Free". This email sent to me stated it confirms payment for Microsoft Defender software. I did not authorize nor did I make this purchase. In addition to this email, I also received another email from Alok Kumar at [email protected], stating a payment of $499.99 in USD was sent to Hoang C. Thang regarding an Antivirus purchase on 5 April 2021. If I did not authenticate this transaction to call 1-213-784-9583. I call this number and received no answer. I then contacted and called the listed number for for PayPal at 1-402-935-7733 and 1-88-221-1161. Per the instructions I was told to leave a call back number and due to the high volume calls I would received a call back. I followed the instructions and received a call back from a woman posing as a representative of PayPal. After I explained to her what has happen she requested that I reset my pass word, email her a copy of the email I received to PayPal at [email protected]. Well that turned out to be a bogus email address. When I checked my phone to see the number I received from the bogus PayPal representative. Guest what it was the same number that was listed in the email from [email protected]. As a result of learning all of this I closed my account with PayPal in an effort to cancel any future payments charged to my PayPal account. I have been scammed and I am reporting this for a solution.
