Fraudulent Microsoft Technician stole $36,000 from me using the Dept. of Justice as a recipient. The incident was reported to Microsoft in May 2023. Microsoft has not located the Microsoft Technician, Money Mule in Salt Lake City. This Fraudster is not a US Citizen and needs to be arrested for FRAUD.

The caller claimed to be from Microsoft. It was a robo-call with a female voice, no noticeable accent. She said that my IP address had been compromised by a cyber-attack from several different countries and that they would cancel my Windows key within 48 hours and that I would not be able to use Windows after that and that I would have to pay for a new Windows key unless I dialed 1 right now. I assumed that they wanted to do a remote takeover of my computer, and I hung up, knowing that this had to be a scam because that explanation didn't even make sense. One, Windows doesn't have my phone number, nor do they have my IP address.

I was on my computer yesterday, and all of a sudden, a voice stated that my computer was compromised and I needed to call Microsoft,and gave me a number. I called and the guy got into my computer and told me that it was infected by several viruses and a Trojan Horse. He said I needed firewall software and offered to sell me a 3-year plan for $349.99. With that they would fix my computer. I gave them my credit card number and let them "fix" it. The more I thought about it, the more I realized I had been taken. My computer is only 2 weeks old and there is no way it could have all that wrong with it! I looked up the company online and found out that others had been scammed as well! I have closed my credit card account and disputed the charge. Hopefully, this will save someone else from this scam.
