Microsoft Certified Technician Reports & Reviews (1)

- Sacramento, CA, USA

On Monday, October 23rd 2017, I received an alert email. The email said I must call 877-220-8628 because a virus blocked my emails. Since I couldn't get into my emails I decided to call. On the line was a woman named Meghan. I asked Meghan that I called this number because I couldn't have access to my emails. She told me not to worry and that she was going to help me. She told me to look up at the screen and to click the "CTRL and the Microsoft emblem at the same time. When I did that, it took me to a total different window. So, she asked for my first and last name and told me to write some information into my computer, in which I did.

Suddenly, she was navigating inside my computer showing me all the virus I have. At this point I was scared and wanted to stop. I told her that I did not want to continue and that I was going to hang up the phone. Here is were she got mad at me, and I realized that something was very wrong. So, I called the three major credit cards immediately to report.
