He said the townhouse was available for rent and was willing to show me the available unit. I met with him on the property where the key to was kept in the mailbox of the unit at the entry door. for easy access to everyone.
Once he done viewing the unit we spoke briefly outside the unit and He then gave me a credit check application from his brief case in his car. He then told me that he couldn't stick around for me to complete it and that I could drop it off at his bar called Mickey's bar on the address I provided. I showed up to this establishment to stop off MT application, and he was there. He then told me there was a fee and that he only took cash and that his business establishment of 40+ years did not have a credit card swipe system to receive payments and then lead me to a indoor ATM machine he had at this bar, that charged $3.00 in fee. He then explained that all of his tenants would pay their rent at this Mickey's bar establishment. People's personal and vital information is held at this shady looking bar. Where anyone could steal their identity to do whatever they chose to including the owner of this Mickey's Bar. I went ahead and allowed him to process my application. But had not heard back from him since. And has ignored all of my calls to check the status of the application and possibility of being a tenant to the property. Not very professional at all.
Today I went on Craigslist again and saw this same post for the same town home and another phone number was provided, I called them and this time it was a female that was willing to meet me tomorrow August 9th. I agreed to meet with her to inquire more details about this possible scam.
