Two people came from what apparently was Michigan Natural Gas. They said that if I didn’t want my rates to continue to go up that I needed to sign my name. They told me specifically when I asked that I was not signing up to change companies or services. They said that I was not and that it was only to request the lower rate. I was then contacted by Consumers Energy telling me that I had entered into a contract with Michigan Natural Gas to change suppliers. The salesmen lied to me.

Apparently my mother signed up with michigan natural gas december 2016 and started seeing it on her dte bill january 2017 when i called just this morning. Yet when i called to cancel last month they said she signed up march 2017? Either way they came door to door like some salesman with shady business and she somehow signed a contract but my mother doesnt even speak english so thats already seeming fishy she would willingly sign up for something in another language. But regardless they said she had a contract for a year and it ended in september 2017 again not even a whole year if you do the math though? So she was put on a monthly rate not a "fixed rate" like when she signed up. But the supervisor Caroline even said she could NOT find the information regarding her bill. Then how did she sign up for something without knowing any amounts? The whole thing is definitely a scam, seems they take your bills to look at and copy your info to change it on your account as ive read in other similar reviews. Someone needs to shut this down since theyre stealing money yet not knowing any amounts they charge or how it ends up on another companys bill?
