This person, Michael Roger Paul, friended me on Facebook, we texted several times a day every day for 9 months. At first it was just a lot of friendship, he being very romantic... and eventually he had made a trip to the UK, and when he was there found out that his bank account had been froze and he had no way to get back home or pay his hotel or buy food etc. He was very demanding, begging me to send him money to help him out, I mean that is what friends do right? Eventually he talked me into sending him money to get him back home. He had a flight booked, and ended up that he was booked through Guatemala back to the states. Very unusual flight route. He had to overnight in Guatemala City, and when he went to the airport the next day, He was arrested because they found drugs in his suitcase. Now the begging really started, he said he couldn't go to a Guatemalan prison, he had no way to save himself, could I please help him out, he would pay me back as soon as he got back to the States. Eventually he bullied me into sending him money through wire transfer to a different person or company. Through all the stress etc he ended up in the hospital, and of course had no way to pay his hospital bill, and they wouldn't release him without payment, and he had to have an attorney, and then they had to bribe the courts. Then he had to find someone to drive him out of Guatemala into Mexico so that he could get back to the states..... all of this costing more and more money. He finally got to Dallas, where he ended up back in the hospital, which he had no money to pay for, so I ended up paying for that. In the meantime, he had a package that he had to get from somewhere over in the Greek Islands that contained over a million dollars in gold and cash. He wanted that package sent to me, and he could pay what he owed me out of the money. That started a whole new ordeal of sending money to get my money back. The company shipping the package wanted, to start with, $10,000 to ship it, and that money kept adding up and up to get it sent. I was in Spokane Washington, they shipped the package to Olympia, WA. The story goes on and on, he ended up flying to Olympia, where he had to go back into the hospital because he was so sick (bleeding ulcer), and he never has received the package. To this day he is still asking me for money and gift cards to help him out, which I haven't sent him anything in over a month and a half. All of this money was sent mostly through wire transfers from my bank to various other recipients, never directly to him. I ended up sending over $700,000 to him. He promised me the world, when we finally got this all settled he told me that we would have a beautiful forever. I ended u p finding out that the identity he used was Jens Stoltenberg, who is the Secretary General of NATO... I had no idea who he was. I am a 71 year old woman, who recently lost my husband, and then my brother, and then my best friend, all in a short period of time. I was very lonely and he seemed like a Godsend to me. Ended up being my biggest nightmare. I wanted to report this because I want this guy found and stopped. I did not want anyone to think that I was doing anything illegal besides trying to help a 'friend' out of a very difficult situation, and I would like to warn other women to please be aware that there is this going on. This man broke me and he could care less
