Scam was generated on Craig's List as a buyer for the tread mill I am selling. Buyer/scam artist sent a check for $2,920 which I initially refused because the treadmill was on sale for $400. He and I talked multiple times on the phone and via text and he assured me that the balance was for the mover company that would pick up the treadmill and other items in the area. I researched his business, (valid on BBB), his name (real person on social media), moving company (also a real person/private owned moving company) and their Venmo and Apple Pay accounts. Again, all legit. I paid the moving company after the check had been in my bank account 3 days, exactly 3 days later the check bounced. All subsequent texts and attempts to contact Andrew Loconte bounced back. I have lost $2,470, the respect of my family and probably my wife unless I can get the money back. I'm such a fool.
