Type of a scam Employment
(1) Job candidates were asked to join a Slack channel group instead of contacting each candidate individually via e-mail or phone. The email was sent from a scammer email address with a Slack channel link to join.
(2) The Slack channel allows job candidates to freely discuss and contact each other, which is an odd recruiting practice.
(3) (See screenshot) 200+ job candidates are asked to download the Acorns app and invest money with their referral link. The referral link allows the scammers to earn money upon successful account setup.
(4) (See screenshot) I received instructions to download the company’s product app to boost the quantifiable downloads on the App Store.
(5) I have scheduled 3 meetings via Calendly and no individual attended the 3 meetings. Contact to express concern was communicated about meeting details, but I was told to continue “re-scheduling” with the company staff.
