My daughter was approached by someone faking to be from Metalab. She was online interviewed, offered a position and started the application process. They were able to get an image of her passport and also her address, name and SSN via filling out a W4. She caught the scam by them depositing 4000 dollars into her account in order to purchase equipment for work from a "certified vendor". She called her bank about the check deposit and her bank verified that the check fraudulent and was a washed check from another company. She immediately stopped the process and is currently remediating the identity theft.
