We made contact with the "friend" - Sylvia Monroe (sylviamonroe85@gmailcom). Sylvia happened to be located in La Toque, Quebec; we are located in Kelowna BC. No problem to Sylvia, she would ship the puppy to our house - door to door. Kind of convenient too, we could not go to the breeder to see the "dogs" in person to check them out.
We got a little bit concerned because she would not explain the shipping process to us, or what company she would use. We have never purchased a puppy from out of province, although we know many people have done this. Sylvia said that once we paid $2000 (full price) through pay pal, we needed to send her a screenshot of the payment - not sure why she would need this as you get notified by PayPal when a transaction/deposit has occurred, it was also through a "friends and family transfer" not a business PayPal account.
Further more, the address she wanted us to send the PayPal was different from the one that she was using to corresponding through ([email protected]).
After we expressed our concern with the process, Sylvia said we could pay in whatever manner we felt comfortable, she would even take BitCoin. Hmm.... interesting that she would take the most form of currency used by most scammers that is totally untraceable and unrecoverable once it is sent.
They said all the right things, just glad we did not fall for this scam!
