I came upon the website Meridian Family Cattery, my husband and I were looking for cats and we fell in love with one of the cats they were selling. I got in contact and they seemed to respond quickly. The breeder Manuel informed us that they were based in Texas and we'd have to pay $120 extra for shipping to IL. We agreed that it was fine and we sent the payment to them through Zelle.
We ended up paying $820 in total for a Ragdoll blue eyed 11 week old kitten. They had informed us they'd ship him out the next day and that they would deliver to our door and didn't mention anything about paying extra at all. The next day Manuel emailed me letting me know he dropped of the kitten at the airport and send me a tracking number. A couple minutes pass and I get a call from FastWay Global Courier (https://fastwayglobalcourier.com/secured_track_trace_results.php this is their website which I feel is also a scam) explaining on how Manuel didn't provide the correct crate for the kitten to travel in and that wed have to rent a thermal crate.

FROM THIS POINT ON, OUR STORY IS EXACTLY AS THE OTHER COUPLE'S STORY POSTED ON THIS SITE.

We have not heard from Manuel at all and we're out of $820 and no kitten at all.

We understood on the reasons why we needed to switch the crate but they were asking us to spend $950-1600. $950 was the cheapest for the thermal crate, they explained on how the 900 would be refunded and the 50 would just be deduced for the rent of the crate. We explained that we were not informed of this payment and that we didn't have the money to pay for the thermal crate. They advised us to call Manuel, so we did and Manuel said this was a surprise to him as well and he had no idea they would ask for a thermal crate. This didn't make sense to me since on his website there's reviews on how he's shipped kittens to Cali before and other states as well, if he had done this in the passed I'm sure the other customers would have informed him about this extra charge. They would have also informed him right when he dropped of the kitten with the shippers as well. He informed that he'd pay $350 for it but we explained we weren't going to be paying anymore money then we had already agreed to when we bought the kitten. Manuel said he'll call the shippers and figure something out, the shippers later called us explaining Manuel had told them he'd be paying $350 and we'd pay the rest. We explained that we did not come to this agreement that he would call you guys and figure something else. We tried getting in contact with Manuel after that call to tell him we no longer want the kitten and want a refund and he would not answer my calls but decline them. I sent him multiple emails explaining on why we are frustrated and irritated. I would not receive no email reply even when I sent picture proof of them offering 100% refund if kitten isn't delivered after payment. They didn't reply to that email as well. The day after he was supposed to be shipped I did not receive no emails, no calls, nor text to speak about this situation. their website is still up and the kitten we adopted is still available on their website. I called the carriers to see if Manuel has yet picked up the kitten or gotten in touch with them. They noticed me that Manuel's daughter had an emergency and would pick up the kitten when he could later today. If he could have informed the carriers about the emergency Manuel had, I'm sure he would have had time to call and let use know that he'd get back to us after he resolved the emergency he has. yet we have not heard from Manuel at all and we're out of $820 and no kitten at all.
