I received a call from a blocked number so I didn't answer. A woman left a message saying she was a process server from the county. She said if I didn't call 4432672385, she would be at my work between 3-5pm to serve me papers. I panicked and called the number. Naudia Pittman is who I was directed to. She told me that I owed a debt from The Cash Store and that if I didn't pay $687 she would have me arrested for bank fraud. I'm a single mom of two so of course I panicked, not knowing where my kids would go if I ended up in jail. I gave her my debit card information and set up a payment plan with her. She emailed me a payment agreement to sign. As soon as I hung up, I knew I had made a mistake. I opened the email and when looking over the document, I realized there wasn't a company name on it. I also realized that I didn't ask who she worked for. I immediately cancelled my debit card. She called again the next day and left me a very angry message about canceling my card and that I need to be prepared to be arrested. I called her back and asked her for her business name which she stated was Meridian Capital Management. Then I asked if she had a business address that I would mail a payment to. She said no, they don't accept payments by mail. Next I asked for a validation of debt. I had one emailed to me, but it looked like someone just typed one up right then. I told her that I would only like to communicate with her by mail and hung up. I had some problems with identity theft a couple years ago so I decided to contact the Cash Store to make sure that I didn't have an account there. I gave them my name and account number (that was provided by Naudia) and there was no record of me ever having an account. I am still getting calls from "process servers" and Naudia almost daily.
