I received a job offer in my email, which was obtained from indeed. The position was “merchant seller assistant”. They sent me a 32 page information packed explaining everything. The interview process consisted of 2 phone calls, no video at all! Then I filled out a very unprofessional looking application and sent some personally identifiable documents to them. They even contacted my references. The packet that I received wasn’t very well written and I was suspicious the whole time but I was also desperate for a job. I filled out and submitted the required paperwork, went through (2) interview/training phone calls, and about week following I received an email notification saying my dashboard was setup and was given my login credentials. The site where I could access my dashboard was: https://cp.merchantsconnected.com/user/login.php.
About 2 weeks ago my dashboard said that I had a “payment date” set for 4/20. Well 4/20 has now come and gone and after making multiple attempts emailing and calling, I’ve heard nothing back.
I’m now fully convinced that this was nothing but a scam…a full blown operation of a scam.
They wasted my time and got a ton of my personal information.
I kept questioning the whole thing in the back of my mind, but then I couldn’t believe that someone would go through all the trouble, the details, the extensive setup this company did for a front - how could they be scamming people? Why would they put so much effort in?
So anything I’d planned/budgeted for this paycheck…gone. Hopefully this prevents the same thing from happening to someone else and I do hope these guys get caught and pay for what they’ve put people through.

They even contacted my references. The packet that I received wasn’t very well written and I was suspicious the whole time but I was also desperate for a job. Once the phone interviews and the application process was done they told me they would have my dashboard set up within 2 weeks. They offered a part time remote job that would involve me receiving packages sent to my address but addressed to their “clients” by name. Once I got the packages, I was told to upload a report with photos of the product on my “dashboard” to show any damage, if any. Once that was done, I needed to request an outgoing shipping label. When this was received I just had to take the packages to the nearest UPS, ship them out, upload the shipping receipt and receive $50 per package inspected. The compensation offered was $1500 monthly base pay plus $50 per package. They said the first month I would receive 10-15 packages, the second month I would receive 15-20, the third month I would receive 20-30. After 3 months I would be able to request up to 60 packages per month. The first pay was supposed to be 2-3 weeks after receiving my first package and I was told to expect my first package about 2 weeks after my dashboard was set up. The dashboard was set up fairly quickly but it was over a month before I received my first package. When I finally did get my first one, the second came almost immediately after, then nothing for a couple more weeks. Soon after getting my first 2 packages, I saw on my dashboard that I had a “payment date” set. It said my first pay would be 4/11. When I got my third package I was having some trouble uploading the photos onto the dashboard, the site just didn’t seem to be working properly so I contacted support. They didn’t respond to me for over a week so I contacted them again on 4/10. I finally got a response and they confirmed that my photos were received. 4/11 came and went and I never got paid. When I tried to login to my dashboard again on 4/11 (all day) and 4/12, I realized I was locked out. I now know this indeed was not a legit job offer. They wasted my time and got a ton of my personal information. I feel very foolish for letting this happen because I was suspicious the entire time I was in contact with them but I set all of my worries aside because I really needed a job and I kept thinking how could they be scamming people? Why would they put so much effort in? A whole website, a 30+ page info packed, contacting reference, multiple calls. I plan to report them to anyone who will listen and I really hope it doesn’t happen to anyone else.
