They called up posing as our credit card processing company wanting to lower our interest rates for usage. Through our conversation they started asking more questions and for more information than we thought they needed to get this process done. I told them I would not give them the information over the phone I had them email a list of the information they needed. After we hung up I called our credit card processing company using the number we have on file and they informed me that it was a scam.

The representative called asking us to review our merchant services statement because there were charges on the statement that we should not have been paying. He was offering to correct these issues since he was working at our merchant service processing company. He stated that his company was the one that handled our PCI compliance. After a couple of failed attempts at verifying this information with him, I ended the call.
