Contacts you thru mercari saying 5hey want to purchase an item you have for sale. They give you a number to contact outside of mercari. They then texr you and say they are unable to make a payment on the app because your identity is not verified they say they received an email from support [email protected]. you then get the email and they say you need to go buy a vanilla gift card to verify your identity. Then take a photo of card and email back.

I was told by Mercari to put $200 on to a Vanilla go debit card to start services for online sales .After submitting proof of sales of debit card to Mercari the account says activated then few moments later says deactivated,I contacted the merchant an I was told to buy another card with more money. I attempted numerous times to contact merchant an there was no more communication . I was deceived by the merchant and buyer I'm kindly asking for your support to get my refund.

I was contacted thru Mercari by a potential buyer of an item I was selling on Mercari asking me to text her because she was at work and didn't want to be online with her work computer. She gave me this number: 210-926-6449. This would have been my first sale. I called and she texted me right away asking questions about the item. She asked for a lower price, I said no. She said she would purchase and said she tried 3 times but the purchase would not go through on Mercari. She then gave me the Mercari tech email to get the process moving. It went on from there. They asked for $500 for verification and they said I would get it back along with my sale of $300. They wanted me to get a prepaid card. I said no, that my debit card was on the Mercari site and for them to place credit on my card. They said they can't do it that way. I signed up on Mercari for direct deposit and told them I did that. They said they needed the $500 for verification. I spoke to the purchaser and she said she had to do that also, and she got her money back right away. She said she did it with a prepaid card. This went on and on. Finally I gave them my debit card and they charged $499.00 and refunded $499.00 just to show good will.Then they charded $200 twice and $100 once. I Fianlly stopped the process because I realized what a fool I was and that this was fraud. I called my bank and disputed the charge and explained about the fraud. This was Aug 2nd so I'm waiting 10 days for my credit. I changed my Bank password and my email password.

I can show I all screenshots of me giving my name and address and me sending the money. Them accepting it and telling me they will get it to me .. Me asking them a week later where is is. Me askimg for a refund and them declining than after they decline is when they changed name and blocked me and still had it for sale

Why do they need my ssn#? I have only sold $2,000 worth so it can’t be for tax purposes. They won’t let me withdrawal my money until I disclose my ssn#

Someone used my personal information including my address,email, and social security number to solicit others into either selling or buying products. I never made this account or downloaded this app. There is a scammer using my email and personal information with this company.

I've had two problems with this company and it is likely they are the scammers. My first incident was a large purchase. (It seems fishy it is only when an item is expensive). I received an empty box instead of my order. They told me to prove it by taking pictures of a empty box. I told them I'd naively thrown the box away so they kept my money. Then the other day I sold very expensive perfumes and I wrapped them in tissue paper a bubble wrap envelope and yet another but she said one of the perfumes arrived broken. She didn't even want to keep the other perfume and I am left with footing the entire bill for all of it. Mercari owes me money for a transaction as it is. I asked Mercari and the buyer if they could send me a picture of the condition of the package when she received it because now as a seller I have to file a claim with USPS. I looked her up on the site and she decants perfumes to sell etc. which made me wonder if she simply decanted all the expensive perfume and is sending me shards of glass. So she has product and all her cash. The refund is in progress. You must see the picture she used to prove her items were damaged. She does not show all the packing as I did wrap securely and she sent a picture that proves nothing for me to send to USPS to file a claim. I can't see anything but blur and they based their decision on this picture. It does feel like this company has scammers within it and I wouldnt put it past them to create accounts to get money or at the very least they are so negligent and take advantage of harborimg scammers. I know they sell smoking paraphinalia, Chinese counterfeit items and they are difficult to deal with. They have no number or anything to reach them except a help center and then they are slow, use poor judgement and associate or are scammers. I'm really tired of it. I do not have money to repay them 80 dollars. I was selling perfume to have presents for my grandkids on Christmas and now because I was trying to raise money and starting to make a little this person buys from me and both she and Mercari are communicating but they don't with me after I confront them about this picture. 've been scammed in this site as a buyer and seller and this picture is proof of the damage that I will have to pay for????

Took money out of my bank account without my permission

Anyone that uses the Mercari app, be careful. They have now taken $45 out of my bank account, deleted my Mercari account, can not tell me what I was charged for, and refuse to refund my money claiming they can't find any account with the information I provided... which included my name, address, the item number I was emailed saying I was charged for, email the account was made with, shipping address, and phone number associated to the account, as well as screenshots of where they emailed me saying I had been charged and my account deleted and there is NO PHONE NUMBER to talk to customer support and the online customer support keep sending generalized responses and saying they can't locate my account. I am beyond mad. Will be going to the ScamPulse.com & tempted to sue for theft.

I sold a pair of Uggs boots on the website Mercari. I sent the boots through their website to a buyer in north Carolina. She received them and Mercari refuses to pay me. They have a policy online saying my money would be issued after the 3rd day of delivery. The 3rd day was Sunday February 14th. They refuse to answer my emails (sent approximately 13).
