My mother recently has changed insurance & now has Medicare. She was helped by a real representative of Medicare but ever since she has been getting phone calls from these people claiming to be calling for Medicare & asking her to confirm her medical I.D number . My mother thought something suspicious was going on when she asked the caller to tell her what her medical I.D number was & she would tell caller if it was right. But caller insisted fo her to say it first tellng her it's for confirmation purposes. My mother then said that if that was the case she'd go in person to he social security office & hung up. They have not stopped calling ever since. I answered a few times & asked if I was related to the Medicare applicant & if so that then perhaps I could give them the infomation needed to process it & issue her a card. I of couse said I wouldn't & the caller got angry & told me I must not care about my mother. I hung up. Now they do have some information which will make a person believe they are legit but you can tell that they are not for they only speak Spanish & my mother has already gotten her Medicare card in the mail.
