Medicare spoofing scam that's become a daily nuisance. They call using my area code. They've called three times today, and 4-5 times other days. They use different bogus phone numbers, claiming I visited their website, which is a lie because I use my own secondary Medicare insurance, and asking me to call a "licensed insurance agent" at 844-696-1169. I believe somebody inside Medicare or SSA has released seniors personal phone numbers to crooks/scammers/spoofers.

- Phoenix, AZ, USA

Received a call at 8:29am on 03/14/2023. After I probed, the gentleman identified himself as calling from Immune Medical Company and asked if I was still having swelling and pain in my right ankle. I asked him to repeat the company name, which he did and then told him I was seeing a doctor already for the problem. He then asked me to confirm I was on Medicare with a supplement, which I refused to do. I demanded he take me off his list and hung up.

About 30 minutes later I got to thinking and wondering how he had that information seeing as I DID just see a foot doctor last week for this exact issue so I called the number back. The representative said they were merely conducting a survey to see if they could help people. He denied knowing anything about my medical condition or how he/they may have obtained that information.

I had called Medicare a few days ago regarding an issue and was told someone would call back. The person returned my call, but I wasn’t home. Again, I was told that someone would call back on my home number. Today, I received a call on my mobile phone and the person stated he was calling about Medicare insurance. He asked for my Medicare number; date of birth; and address. Without thinking, I render the information. He began asking info about medical issues for myself and family member medical history. Further, he stated the red, white, blue Medicare card.was obsolete and will be replaced with a new Medicare card which I’ll be receiving in the mail within 1 week. At this point, I realized this was a fraudulent call because my previous calls to Medicare involved premium payments and nothing to do with my medical health. I was so anxious to talk with Medicare regarding my Premium that I let my guard down. I reported this phone scam to Medicare and they are going to investigate this scam. I

Voice asked question to which I answered "yes I can" before thinking what I was doing.

Stupid response - now I am worried. (14 second call)

- Amarillo, TX, USA

Caller claimed to have been with Medicare Insurance and needed to confirm my personal information. He spoke with a thick Indian accent and was very difficult to understand. He already knew my address. I did not give out any more information and quickly hung up and called the BBB.
