This is apparently a big-time scam involving many people. They all identify themselves by first name only, and falsely say "we" have recently sent you a letter about new Medicare benefits. The phone display shows a different city and phone number every time. We get at least three or four calls from them a day. I don't know what they're after because I don't listen long enough to find out (hope that's not a mistake). I do know they're highly persistent and they're not genuine.

Received a phone from someone claiming to be Medicare. They asked for my phone number and medicare number. Then they asked if I had arthritis. I said no, so they said okay we will call you back in an hour. They did not call back. When I called Medicare directly, they said this was not them.
