Medicare Imposter Phone Call Phishing and Fake Threat of Loss of Coverage Scam Reports & Reviews (1)

On many occasions recently (at least once a day sometimes more) an individual with a foreign accent calls saying he is from Medicare asking if I received my new Medicare card last week. I usually just hang up and don't engage in conversation. Today, however, I asked "How do I know you are actually with Medicare and not a scammer?" He then gave me his "badge" #421186 and the name of Oscar Adare (or that's what it sounded like with his accent and referred me to an 800 phone number on the back of my Medicare card. He then stated that after this call my Medicare card would not be valid. The information that made me think this is a scam was the fact that he asked for me by my middle and last name. This is not the name on my Medicare card (which I didn't share with him.) After this conversation I hung up on him. These calls usually occur around the 8:00 - 9:00 a.m and when my husband happens to answer the phone at this time there is no one there.
