Thurs Oct 12 at 3:34 pm. Call from (252) 318-3258, Ayden NC. I answered because I’ve had SO many calls trying to strong arm me into a Medicare C plan - they state they’re from Wellcare (my Part D plan - I have Medicare and Medicaid.). The Wellcare calls all say they’re “calling from my Wellcare” which isn’t true. After a GREAT deal of calling and digging I found these people are independent insurance agents in NC - apparently insurance companies (my Part D drug plan) give out our info to agents who want it and then these insurance people dog us yo death on the phone and since I have Medicare and Medicaid they assume I’m 102 and very stupid (incorrect, I’m just poor.) so today I answered (252) 318-3258 call and the very low IQ man had ALL my info including full name, address, DOB, and MEDICARE NUMBER among other details. HOW?! Wanted to send a requisition to my primary care doc, for me to get my immune deficiency testing done and my cancer testing done - genetic tests so that “you know you won’t pass ‘em down to your children and grandchildren…” I asked questions but he got mad and just kept repeating what he already said - talking SUPER LOUD and fast - and punctuated each phrase with a loud, abrupt MA’AM! NC accent for sure. Very dumb. Pushier and more demanding than usual. I get dozens every day (usually don’t answer) but this is the most concerning because of all the info he had. I answered because I was expecting a call from a 252- area phone. I called Medicare to ask about this, to report this call, to maybe report it…. Waiting for a call back, they will document this incident in case I’m hacked, or have my Medicare account breached, or for some reason need to change my Medicare # in the future - the very nice lady said it’s easier and quicker to make that change if things are documented. The call today was not like anything I’ve heard about before - having all my info, sounding not legit ( obvious sounds of loud call center in the background), wanting to fax my Doc a requisition for some kind of genetic testing, no good answers for any questions. I asked why and he said “because of your Medicare - MA’AM!!!” I looked up and couldn’t find anything on the phone # or “The Health and Wellness Center” MA’AM! I have no idea if I have or will suffer any negative consequences regarding this. It’s irritating. I don’t have my bank account attached to anything and don’t have any credit cards. But what about that Medicare #
