I received a text message offering employment to me as a registered nurse for Clayton, North Carolina. I am a registered nurse of that state. My father received this as well and my first name was used in the text. The following is what was sent: “Hi **** I reviewed your profile from LinkedIn and your profile best fit for our new job opening for Registered nurse in Clayton, North Carolina. I sent you complete job details in your email, If you are interested to hear more details about the position please indicate your time for a quick chat for today or this evening. Looking forward to hearing from you soon, Thanks Damien @ Medical Clinical Staffing [email protected].” I looked up his name, website, and people who viewed my LinkedIn profile and I could not find him nor the email. The website has flaws, but almost looks legitimate. The address leads to a residential home, according to Apple Maps. The LinkedIn profile shows 5 staffing agents who post position information, which asks for personal information and credentials to be provided. The type of credential information asked for isn’t asked for in a medical job posting. This business seems to target nurses and other medical personnel to scam them for their identities. I am not sure how my father received this text as well. My information online is limited and I do not include his information. My LinkedIn profile has been private and not updated for some time. I have since put it into hibernation. My father and I have not responded to this text.
