The person reached out to me Via email saying they had gotten my resume from LinkedIn and I was highly recommended for a Remote Data Entry position.

They had me download RingCentral, a communicating app, and add them in my chat. They sent me an initial interview form to fill out and return. They then sent me an offer letter that looked legitimate, using the actual Chief Executives name from Medical City. The position apparently offered $30/hour for training and $35/hour once I was fully trained. They then sent me a check via the Ring Central App and provided instructions on how to deposit the check. The check was for $4950 and they told me it was a start-up check and was to be used for equipment, installation and delivery. I had been asking to speak to someone over the phone because I felt that something was weird, but they were avoiding the question and telling me we'd talk via video call during my training. I printed the check and took it to my bank, where I was told the check was fraudulent and the account number on the check did not exist. Luckily, I didn't give out any personal information. I assume they planned to have me send money or buy something before the check bounced. I informed the person I was talking to that I was told the check was fraudulent and didn't hear from them at all after that.
