Company called and stated that I owed them for a past medical bill that was in collections and if I didn't pay them today that I was going to court and had to also pay court fees. They had my name, address and the last 4 of my social security number

I received a phone call from an someone who said first me, then they said the name of my 6 year old child.  I owed the hospital$717.00 and needed to pay now.  I said first you said my name now my daughters name.  Then the person said the last four digits of my daughters SS# which scared me.  I told him that I was going to call the hospital to verify, that's when the manager got on the phone and said they could lower the bill to 500.00 if I paid now.  I said I wasn't going to pay anything without calling the hospital for the total amount.  The person who said he was the manager got upset and insisted I give them the money, I then hung up the phone.  I then called the hospital and the hospital said I have a zero balance.  They advised me to call the BBB.
