The scammer called my grandmother, saying that they were from the Medicaid office, and that she was eligible for genetic testing, asked her for her Social Security number, her height, her weight, her street address and ethnicity

Trying to get me to sign up for Medicaid. I don’t even qualify for Medicaid.

- San Antonio, TX, USA

She asked for me by name. I told her The connection was bad and she said she’d call me back so I looked up the number and it said scam and it said the number belong to Sheila Campbell so I called back and asked for Sheila and I just got breathing

Caller stated they were calling from medicaid insurance and demanded they give her their social security for insurance purposes. When she asked to have a number to call the business back they would not give it to her and hung up.

- Arlington Heights, IL, USA

They used my full name, which is not publicly available, and asked me to confirm that it was me they were speaking to. As soon as I said yes they hung up

Received recorded message stating eligible for medical braces. Received NINE calls within 6 hours in one day triggering answering machine to record only a partial messages.

Keep getting called numerous times a day from varying phone numbers stating 'we have tried to contact you via mail, and this is your final attempt or your medicaid coverage will be blocked" 419-318-1367

419-552-2338

This company with no name first started calling from a number in Albermarle NC and then switched to a number based in Mableton GA. It's a robocall that says 'Press 2 to speak to be connected to an insurance specialist in your area or press nine to be added to the do not call list." I have continually pressed nine. I continue to get calls. I have pressed two, but when I speak to these people, all they do is hang up on me.

They came across as a real company by starting the call off with a fake automated recording introduction stating they were trying to get a hold of me to resolve my Medicaid enrollment, (which is creepy because just a few days ago, using ssp.benefits.ohio.gov/, I requested an appointment for assistance over issues applying for Medicaid, so How they know this info is a discomforting mystery) Then the automated voice system followed with questions even having me reply with yes or no answers to proceed. Then I got transferred to an “associate” to help me, then a possibly mixed African-American young man with a somewhat feminine sounding voice proceeded to ask me basic questions and false assumptions, including that I have a wife and a serious sickness that required me to see the doctor. After I corrected him and firmly objected his recommendation that I need a group policy(?) he seemed to freeze up. after a brief silence I said “hello, is there a problem” and he quickly interrupted me with saying, “Shut The [censored] Up, B*tch” and immediately hung up. I was confused, irritated, and wanted juistice right away. I called back about a half hour later and I got a dial tone followed by an automated operator machine stating the number is no longer in service and had been changed. The other strange thing about this is that the Area code, along with the first three digits of their phone number is the exact same as my phone number and the city of Toledo showed with the number and that is where I lived and registered my cell phone about 10 years ago. This was a terrible end to my day and I wanted to share this, if anyone knows anything, if anyone has had a similar experience, and to warn anyone who might have this happen to them. Though I believe, because I complicated things by questioning everything and making it hard to scam me, that he gave up before they could try and get any personal or financial info from me, so he decided to be a disrespectful jerk. just watch out and make sure to report any incident of insurance fraud you might be subject/victim to. REMEMBER.. health insursince/Medicaid will never contact you randomly by phone. Almost always through US Mail or email/website message.

- Detroit, MI, USA

They called and said they were from Medicaid and wanted to send my new card. She said she needed my social security number and i gave it to her. I asked when I would receive my new card and she said within 3 days. I called the actual Medicaid number the next day and this woman said they hadn't started sending out any cards in the state of Michigan yet.

- Davenport, IA, USA

Recording saying I signed up for a medicaid program and they want to give me more information. Called multiple times within minutes when I hung up.

Over heard my grandmother giving her personal information to someone over the phone after business hours. (8:50pm) They stated that they were trying to order her a back brace and that they needed her address and Medicaid information. They called her from a South Carolina phone number but stated that they where located in Florida. So I took the phone from my grandmother and asked this guy "Why was he calling this late and why did he need her personal information?" Second, i asked "what doctor gave them the referral?" He said that i did not need to know that information. So I hung up the phone. I called the number back from a different phone and the number was no longer in service. This guy spoke with an Middle Eastern accent.

- Fort Wayne, IN, USA

The person says they are responding to my request for information on Medicaid supplemental insurance. When I tell them I did not request information they still try to tell me how I can save money. When I tell them they have called my company cell phone and to please not call me again they hang up. They have called me a total of six times in two days from three different phone numbers. It comes up on the caller ID as Pennville, IN number.

Mail that looks like an index card from the Pain Centers (no address)

- Westerville, OH, USA

I think this was a call aimed at getting me to say "yes" on recording. Caller said he was an agent with Medicaid, and asked by name if he was speaking to me. I said yes and the call immediately disconnected.
