I was left a message that I had "evaded contact" for a past debt in collections. I was told to call back and speak with Karen ******. I had no memory of such debt. They said they would be dispatching the sheriff with a summons as I would be sued if I didn't pay it. The person on the phone was rude and yelled at me, at one point stating, "It's not my responsibility to help you manage your finances. You got yourself in to this." I had asked what year the alleged debt was taken out. I thought I was smarter than this, but they had so much personal information, I started to think maybe I did forget about an old loan.
