I received the email pasted below on 05/15/2025. I am looking for work and have an active profile on WorkInTexas.com, so I assumed that is where they got my information. I connected with "Dr. Carrington" on a Microsoft Teams link. The entire interview was chat only, which is when I began to get suspicious. At the end of the interview, the person asked me to stay on the line for a few minutes more so they could check with their supervisor about an offer. A few minutes later, they offered me the job and sent information about training (the follow-up email pasted below). At no time during the "interview" did they ask for money, bank account info, or identification documentation; however, the follow-up email asked me to complete and return a W2 and a document that included a copy of my driver's license. I did not respond. After all this weirdness, I searched for information on this scam and only found 2 references, both posted within the last month:
