McMillan Filmworks Reports & Reviews (1)

This involves a fake film that I was lured into funding, titled, “Bullies and Friends.” It started slow, beginning approximately May of 2015 with a few small donation toward funding this “product.” It is not a new film, as she claims, but an extremely small documentary she filmed sometime after 2001, called “Rats & Bullies.” The subject was about a 14 year-old Canadian girl (in B.C.) named Dawn-Marie Wesley, that had committed suicide by hanging herself in her closet with her dog’s leash after being horribly bullied for years. She used “Roberta McMillan” in the credits. (I was horribly bullied from the first day of 5th grade through most of 10th grade. Numerous times I sat on the tub with a razor pressed into my wrist. I felt so close to these children that killed themselves; I could feel their pain.) I started following Cassidy on her 2 Twitter pages; one, under Cassidy McMillan—@CassidyMcM and 2, the film’s Twitter account: Bullies&Friends Doc—@BulliesnFriends We eventually began conversing on Twitter and we talked about my personal experiences with bullying, then phone calls. I upped my donations. She praised me lavishly, pressing home what a wonderful person I was to help these poor kids. (She would continue this for the next several years.) She made me an “Associate Producer,” based on the donations I had provided. She tasked me to find the person in large companies handling promotion that I would give to her and she would contact them about the film and ask if they would like to be a sponsor or diner. The website, BulliesandFriends.com had 2 ‘donate’ buttons and she also set up 2 fundraising sites, Indigogo and GoFundMe. I came into some money when my husband died, and I gave a substantial amount to her for Closed Captioning. She then made me Executive Director. I assumed this was just in name only, one of the perks for the amount of my obey you gave toward the film. (All in all, I lost close to $200,000for this “new film,” in perpetual post-production and that was “requested by teachers all over the US and 30+ countries around the world.” The website uses stills and a video clip for the trailer that are actually from “Rat’s & Bullies.” She kept needling me for money. (I’m in remission from several different cancers and the treatments have destroyed my body and I’m in constant pain. She was “pretending” concern for me as she would always end a text or phone call that she “needed this or that bill paid. For four years she promised me I would get my money back “and

more.” She claimed she was “constantly” working on the film and the website, while also filling out grants for the film, countless resumes she sent out (she never did get a job,) and supposedly worked part-time at several different grade schools in Orange County, CA. She kept begging for more money. She was always broke, until I was paying her about $4,000 a month to cover “film expenses” and personal bills. I gave her a CC to pay for her rent one-time, but it went through, again, the next month and she used it to pay rental storage fees for her camera equipment and film. She was constantly saying she needed gas or food money for her ‘rescue cat.’ At times she’d be crying and call or text me for money saying if I didn’t pay her, she would be evicted and that she and her cat would die, I was keeping them alive and news headlines would read: “OC Actress and Rescue Cat Die Homeless in Car.” She would guilt me or praise me to weasel money. Anyway, I was suspicious, but didn’t have any concrete evidence that this was fraud. It finally did come out when the film editor I contracted (because she had dragged out the editing for a variety of reasons for years) and she actually went to her house. (I was forbidden to go to her house; we met in restaurants.) She wouldn’t allow the editor to see the title page nor the credits. Later, the editor said she acted “funny” about the film and told me the film quality was poor, stained and faded in spots, looked dated and several different cameras were used giving it a very distorted feel. She also badmouthed me to her on several occasions, and to the musical artist that was doing the theme song and hitting him up for money for gas and food, too! Very odd, and then she started making excuses to not see the editor, then begged off completely. Again odd, as she had seemed so anxious to get the film done. She made up excuses to each of the 3 of us—why we didn’t need to contact each other. Well, we finally did and found out she had bombarded each of us with a pile of lies and the whole thing blew up. I stopped paying her and she immediately blocked me from her 2 Twitter accounts and took down her 2 websites. She blocked both the editor and the musician on social media. (Her websites have gone up and down sporadically for almost 2 years.) I have numerous screenshots of the websites, social media and text messages.

This is being worked on by the police’s Internet Crimes Division and the FBI. A report was also filed with the FTC. (My photos are larger than 2MB, sorry.
